Signal Chain
Eurorack edition · Edexcel 9MT0
Patch the chain. Then ask why this order.
Modules wire together top-to-bottom of the rack. Each effect is a piece of named gear with the knobs, meters and switches you'd find on the real thing. Switch to Diagnose to fix a broken patch and read how the failure is documented in examiner reports.
Examiner note
Read these chains as examples, not formulas. Edexcel examiners explicitly criticise candidates who write "I would apply compression and EQ on every channel" without justifying it for the specific track. Processing should be reactionary — responding to what each track actually needs — and you must quote parameter settings (threshold, ratio, attack, release, cutoff, RT60 etc.), not just the effect names. Track-specific detail beats general points (2025 C3 PEF, verbatim).
