What is Delay Time in audio effects? (Edexcel 1.12a)

Delay Time is the duration between the original signal and its delayed copy, measured in milliseconds. It determines the perceived spacing of echoes and is a core parameter for both creative and corrective applications in A-Level production work.

Practical exampleA-Level Application: 80ms = slapback doubling, 125ms = distinct echo, 250ms+ = rhythmic delay. Essential for Component 4 practical work.
